Associate Interactive Developer – Lincoln

We have an immediate need for an Associate Interactive Developer in our Lincoln, NE office.

The Associate Interactive Developer is a challenging and flexible position perfect for an aspiring developer interested in working on a variety of web projects. This position will focus primarily on front-end development and provides a great opportunity to continue to grow and build your core development skills. The developer will work in a team setting and must have strong communication, organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Front-end coding and development using XHTML, CSS and Javascript.
  • Creating and implementing templates in Content Management Systems on multiple platforms.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving code errors and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Communicate closely with Designers, Art Directors, Project Managers and other members of the agency to establish project requirements and estimates.
  • Researching new technologies and solutions, as well as providing recommendations and feedback on how they should be used.
  • Work with other developers to establish best practices, processes and tools to be utilized and shared between projects.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with XHTML and CSS. Experience implementing table-less layouts based on semantic markup.
  • Must be familiar with the subtleties of supporting multiple browsers (Internet Explorer 6/7/8, Firefox, Safari, etc).
  • Knowledge of Web 2.0 technologies, tools and techniques and the ability to implement them.
  • Familiarity with Javascript libraries such as jQuery, primarily in manipulating and customizing existing code. Intermediate experience and ability is preferred.

Experience with several of the following is preferred but not required:

  • Eclipse (or similar IDE), Tortoise SVN, Visual Studio/Visual Web Developer, Adobe Flash, Adobe Photoshop
  • Subversion (or similar version control), AJAX, XML, XSLT, MySQL.
  • Experience and knowledge with backend languages (e.g. PHP, ASP.NET, Ruby, Python, ColdFusion) or other programming technologies.
  • Experience in building dynamic web sites with a Content Management System and/or template system, particularly Drupal.
Work Samples

Interactive Web Developer – Lincoln

We have an immediate need for an Interactive Web Developer in our Lincoln, NE office.

The Interactive Developer is a challenging and flexible position perfect for an experienced developer that has a strong understanding of web concepts. The developer will work with a wide variety of platforms and technologies (PHP, CSS, Javascript, VB, C#, XSLT, and others). The developer will work in a team setting and must have strong communication, organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Front-end coding and development using HTML, CSS and Javascript.
  • Creating and implementing templates in Content Management Systems on multiple platforms. Configuring, managing and extending the functionality of a variety of CMS products.
  • Building and maintaining backend components for new and existing projects either in PHP or .NET, including integration with third-party systems.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving code errors and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Communicate closely with Designers, Art Directors, Project Managers and other members of the agency to establish project requirements and estimates.
  • Researching new technologies and solutions, as well as providing recommendations and feedback on how they should be used.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Experience building dynamic, database-driven web sites using a web-based programming language such as PHP, ASP.NET, ColdFusion or similar. The ability to learn new languages and technologies as the industry evolves or as client needs expand is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with XHTML, CSS and Javascript. Must be familiar with the subtleties of supporting multiple browsers (Explorer, Firefox, Safari).
  • Familiarity with a leading Javascript framework (jQuery, Prototype, etc) is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Content Management Systems and experience in building dynamic web sites with a CMS and/or template system. (Bonus for specific experience with Drupal, Ektron or Sitecore.)
  • Knowledge of Web 2.0 technologies, tools and techniques and the ability to implement them.
  • Exposure to the command line, version control software, and server maintenance (Apache/IIS) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with several of the following is preferred but not required: Eclipse, Tortoise SVN, Visual Studio/Visual Web Developer, Adobe Flash, Adobe Photoshop, Remote Desktop, AJAX, XML, XSLT, MySQL.
  • A Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Science or an equivalent amount of relevant experience including system analysis, design, coding and testing is required.

You’ll write traditional print, collateral, broadcast and digital media on several of the top names in the shooting/hunting and outdoor recreation industries.
